Break down your role within the Let Property team.
As an Account Executive, my job is to bring in new business but also oversee my existing accounts and ensure that everything is being done to offer the best possible service to our customers. I also support my team as Line Manager and offer help and advice when needed.
What does a typical day at Hazelton Mountford look like?
Every day is different. Sometimes I’m looking at policies for a high-value home, the next day it could be a block of flats, or I could be out meeting with clients.
What do you enjoy most about working in the property insurance sector?
The different challenges I deal with and the customers I get to build a relationship with.
What’s one common misconception landlords or property owners have about insurance?
That every building is created equally and therefore insured the same. Many differences can affect a policy and its premium, even in properties 5 minutes from each other.
What advice would you give a first-time landlord looking for insurance?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, we’re here to help and want to make sure a landlord is confident in what we are recommending and what they are purchasing.
If you weren’t working in insurance, what do you think you’d be doing instead?
Something with computers, as part of my jobs I have been testing new automation systems and other ways we can streamline our work which I really enjoy.
What’s been your most rewarding moment at Hazelton Mountford?
Getting promoted to Account Executive. I started as an administrator in the referencing team and worked my way up, so being offered the executive role was a big achievement.
