In the addition to the Owners & Trainers sponsorship, and the Leading Trainer & Jockey Awards, Hazelton Mountford have additional signage around the racecourse and will be sponsoring three races over the course of the new season. The first of these races was held at The Autumn Meeting on 5th October and was the second race on the card at 2.35pm: ‘The Hazelton Mountford Insurance Brokers Maiden Hurdle’, a Class 4 race over 2m 5f.

CAPTION 3: Hazelton Mountford’s sponsorship of the 2.35 ‘Maiden Hurdle’.

Lee Summers, Branch Director and Equine Insurance Specialist, and Mike Douglas, Account Executive, were in attendance and carefully selected the ‘Best Turned Out’ (BTO) horse prior to the start of the race. Congratulations to the winning groom from the Nigel Twiston-Davies stable for her impeccably presented horse, ‘Josh The Boss’. Although sometimes seen to be a bad omen winning the BTO, the same horse went onto the win the race impressively by 19-lengths, so a very well to the winning connections including trainer Nigel, owner John Neild and his son who was riding, Jamie Neild.

CAPTION 4: Lee presents a prize to the groom of the ‘best turned out’ winner ‘Josh The Boss’ which also went on to win our race!

Thomas Williams, General Manager at Warwick Racecourse, said: “It was a thrilling day of racing, showcasing some excellent British horse racing talent. Flight of Freedom won nicely in the Mares Novice Hurdle but Josh The Boss put up a standout performance in the Hazelton Mountford Insurance Brokers Maiden Hurdle. He dispatched a good-looking field on paper with ease. We are delighted to be associated with Hazelton Mountford for another season and thank them for their sponsorship.”

After the presentation of prizes to the winning owners, Lee and Mike enjoyed a glass of bubbles in the winning connections room to toast the winner before taking in a reply of the race.

On the same day, Lee also presented last season’s leading trainer prize to local trainer Dan Skelton.

“Well done Dan (and his team) and good luck for the season ahead! We are delighted to have partnered with Warwick Racecourse for this fantastic day of racing,” said Lee. “As a company deeply rooted in the three counties and passionate about supporting local events, we found the perfect synergy with the Warwick Racecourse. The Maiden Hurdle was a true testament to the skill and dedication of the jockeys, trainers and horses involved.”
