Director Simeon Chapman joined the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce for the Virtual Charity Forum.

Simeon talked on the topic of: Risks and insurance for charities.

Our Director joined the virtual attendees to network and provide more details about the risks that charities, CICs and social enterprises face with Insurance Experts Hazelton Mountford. Simeon navigated the pitfalls and highlight how to mitigate risks by understanding the complex insurance requirements for the not-for-profit sector.

Simeon says: “A key aspect [when considering risks and insurance for charities] is the legally defined duties on trustees:

“such precautions as a prudent man of business would take in managing similar affairs of his own“

Doing your best is not good enough.

“prudent man of business” requires more care and diligence to be taken. In other words a higher level of care and skill.”
